R.I.P. Sir. Indeed an incredible loss to the music world. Along with Chet Atkins, Joe Maphis, Merle Travis, Les Paul will forver be remembered for his incredible style.

    A sad day indeed.

He was an inspiration to me. I’ve played the electric guitar since I was in elementary school (decades ago), and worked with multitrack recording almost as long. I never got to meet him, but I think if I had, I would’ve said, “Thanks, man, you invented a huge part of my life!”

What a tragedy to lose one of the greatest inventors of all time. Think about how many guitarists there are in the world today. Few people make a name for themselves before they die. Even the ones that do have not accomplished the task of placing their invention in the hands of millions world-wide.
