It’s been a few months since the HT Crew got together for an old fashioned cookout. With the cold weather creeping in and the holiday season upon us we thought we’d get the gang together one last time this year to throw some large hunks of meat on the grill and crack open a few Troeg’s Mad Elf Ale’s for another rousing edition of At The Barbecue. In June of 2009, Bonnaroo celebrated it’s eighth year with what was widely considered to be a banner year in the event’s history. The dazzling array of performers ranged from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to Phish and also included artists such as The Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Costello, Wilco, Zac Brown and many, many more. “Live From Bonnaroo 2009″ on DVD will now allow viewers to experience the event again or for the first time. The DVD will feature select exclusive performances and atmosphere footage along with pristine audio presented in 5.1 surround straight from the Bonnaroo master tapes. (more…)

I just love this song. Springsteen has said the message he was trying to convey in this song is: “Success requires sacrifice.” It is one of the songs on Darkness On The Edge Of Town that implies you have to work for the hopes and dreams spelled out in the songs on Born To Run. Behold the power of the E Street Band.

Bruce Springsteen appears on the cover of both Newsweek and Time simultaneously, helping to propel his current album, Born To Run, in to the top three.
The day after Jerry’s passing in 1995, Bruce paid homage in a unique way. He hopped onstage with New Jersey’s Grateful Dead inspired Solar Circus and jammed on a couple of songs. Here’s the video documentation:
A very happy 59th birthday to Bruce. One of rock’s most charismatic and important figures for over 30 years, “The Boss” has celebrated remarkable success and longevity. Here’s Bruce and the E Street Band playing “Rosalita” in 1975:
According to reports, New Jersey rocker, Bruce Springsteen will perform at the celebrated halftime show in Tampa, February 2009.
Here’s Bruce and the gang from the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1979.
This has always been one of our favorites, but we just heard it in the car today and were reminded what a great song this is.
Story is that this song is an autobiography of sorts. Bruce received a $25,000 advance from Columbia Records when he signed his first record deal and wrote this song as a “kiss off”, he said, to everyone who doubted him and told him to get a real job.
