Phish and 99 “killer” albums
In a customarily creative fashion, Phish has come up with a way to reveal their choice for their Halloween album. On Phish.com they have a gallery of 99 potential albums and one by one they are “killed” or stricken from the final decision. Pretty cool idea if you ask me. What do you think they’ll choose? Hidden Track has listed some cool stats on the possible albums.

The Avett’s celebrate new release with stealth show
The Avett Brothers excellent new release hit stores yesterday and I for one can’t get enough of the new tracks. Jambands.com:
The Avett Brothers celebrated the release of its major label debut I and Love and You yesterday with both an art shows and a stealth performance. The members of the Avett Brothers have a longstanding history with Relix: The country-punk trio was named a New Groove of the Month on Jambands.com in 2006, was profiled in Relix’s emerging artists spotlight section a few months later and was the subject of a major feature this past August. Wolfgang’s Vault to add more concerts for download
I was just recently on Wolfgang’s Vault streaming a vintage Stephen Stills show from 1974 and enjoying it immensely. I then thought, ya know, I’d like to purchase this show, but it wasn’t available for download. Well, now it seems that this will be an option on the site.
DETROIT (Billboard) – The once controversial Wolfgang’s Vault, which has amassed the largest collection of licensed streaming live recordings on the Internet, is about to make a treasure trove of those concerts available for downloading.
Beginning November 3, the site will add more than 1,000 titles from 919 artists to the approximately 500 that are currently available for purchase from the site’s Concert Vault section, Bill Sagan, CEO and founder of Wolfgang’s Vault LLC and its parent company, Norton LLC, told Billboard.com. Phish — Guilty Pleasure?
In a pool of 32 artists, Phish reigned supreme as the greatest guilty pleasure according to Entertainment Weekly. I agree with the pleasure aspect, but I don’t feel guilty! Click here to check it out. Happy birthday Trey!
40 years ago today…
David Crosby’s girlfriend, Christine Hinton was killed in a car crash, when her cat wedged itself between the floorboard and her brake pedal. Her death deeply affected Crosby and those closest to he him claim he’s never been the same since. For many years after the accident, Crosby would dedicate “Guinnevere” to her in concert.

My favorite living musician and guitarist for Phish, turns 45 today. 2009 has been a great year for Trey, with the return of Phish and working with various orchestras for his compositions, Trey has proven once again that he is one of the most creative and inspired musicians working today. Thanks for all you do, Big Red!
