“My Funny Valentine”
Happy Valentine’s Day from us at Musical Stew Daily. We thought that we’d post a few versions of the Rodgers/Hart classic, “My Funny Valentine”. First composed for Babes In Arms, a Broadway musical in 1937, the song has been recorded by numerous legendary musicians: Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, Bing Crosby, Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz, Paul Desmond, Tony Bennett, Ben Webster, Buddy Rich, Anita O’Day, Mel Tormé, Sammy Davis, Jr., and many others.
