R.I.P. — Bobby Darin

bdarinvegas1963Walden Robert “Bobby” Cassotto or Bobby Darin passed on this date in 1973. Darin had fought health/heart problems his entire life, but squeezed a lot of living into his 37 years. Darin’s career touched on American standards, folk, rock, jazz, etc. Here’s Bobby with his classic “Beyond The Sea”:


Bruce Springsteen — “Prove It All Night”

Springsteen has said the message he was trying to convey in this song is: “Success requires sacrifice.” It is one of the songs on Darkness On The Edge Of Town that implies you have to work for the hopes and dreams spelled out in the songs on Born To Run.
