I read his book about 2 months ago and while its not earth shattering or mind blowing, it is a good book. It’s amazing the amount of legendary players with which he’s shared the stage/studio. Here’s a link to it. Clapton Autibiography

Phish — 11 Years Ago Today

The Great Went. Another two days of stellar music before the fall of ’97. A shift had occurred in Phish dating back to 10/31/1996, when the band performed The Talking Heads’ “Remain In Light”. The music got longer and looser, fatter and funkier. Every phan has their favorite kind of Phish. Some are ’91 fans, some are ’94 fans, some are ’97 and some are ’03 fans. I’m a fan of all the years, but have a special place in my heart for 1997.

Phish — 12 Years Ago Today

Clifford Ball is responsible for bringing aviation to Pennsylvania. He, along with D. Barr Peat, opened up the Pittsburgh-McKeesport Airport in 1925. Clifford went on to start a new business venture in 1929, opening Clifford Ball Airlines, which made air travel available for commercial purposes. Passengers would often have to sit on mail bags whilst flying the friendly (and understandably bumpy) skies.

But you’re probably not here for a history lesson on aviation are you? You’ve probably stopped by to see what we have written/posted about Clifford Ball-the Phish music festival that took place August 16-17, 1996. Well, we honestly know much more about the latter than the former, so let’s continue.

Cream — Anyone For Tennis?

Here’s an interesting 40-year old television clip showing the band pantomiming “Anyone For Tennis”.

Wouldn’t that be nice?

Cream — Wheels of Fire

“Wheels of Fire,” Cream’s double album, hit the top of the U.S. charts 40 years ago today and later became the world’s first platinum-selling album.  The album’s sleeve, designed by Australian pop artist and cartoonist Martin Sharp, won the New York Art Directors Prize for Best Album Design in 1969.

Here’s the band in November 1968  performing “White Room,” the opening track on the album.
